BUTTER - TRIATHALON
music video

I was approached by LA video artist and longtime collaborator Clayton McCracken to help him with a music video for the indie pop phenoms Triathalon. Designed to melt the mind like “Butter,” the video hand-blends live action footage, 3D animation, and analog video synthesis. I was in charge of the 3D portions.

I used Notch to animate and distort digital models of each of the band members, making them dance upon New York skyscrapers and swirl around one another. These components were then taken, alongside green screen footage of the band, and processed using an array of digital and analogue techniques. Lastly the piece was re-filmed on a CRT monitor to give it that retro analogue flare.
