Projection Art

Returning for a second time to Alys Beach, Shmody partnered with Portland based video artist Peter Clark to produce a piece of projection art for the 2023 edition of Digital Graffiti. Using a combination of filmed cymatics and AI, Ecotone explores the interplay between natural and artificial environments. Sound waves, passed through sand and water, are styled with AI to look like aerial photography of Florida’s shifting coastline. The resulting animation highlights the evolving tensions and synergies between man and nature; the merging of technological and organic worlds.
