DIP - JAKE MELA
music video
I was approached by Chicago-based director, and long-time collaborator, Dylan Gephart to help give his new music video some additional flare. The video was for a young Chicago rapper named Jake Mela and centered around a dance Mela had coined under the same name as his new song, DIP. The idea was to use Notch to process the already dynamic video, glitching, distorting, and stylizing Mela’s choreography. We went back and forth on the effects until landing on 3 primary looks that we felt would cut nicely into the video.
Combined with Mela’s moves and Dylan’s unique editing style, the digital processed footage read as a rhythmic glitch in the matrix. A result we couldn’t have been happier with.
